SmartScan™
SmartScan™ is the first contactless microwave sensor that offers highly accurate online readings of the sheet consistency/moisture on pulp and paper machines.
The system is based on unique microwave technology that allows for a safe and accurate consistency measurement at all times on all grades.
The SmartScan™ calibration is universal and does not require any compensation of some sort during grade changes.
It was designed to overcome the typical limitations of NIR technologies (near-infrared) such as limited penetration of the reading, color sensitivity and inaccuracy measurements when the topography of the sheet changes.
The control unit used to operate the SmartScan™ has the capability of controlling up to 16 sensors which facilitates expansion and multi location readings.
